November 2010: Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan is Adopted
On November 9, 2010 the GHMPO Policy Committee adopted the LEP Plan. The document addresses a federal mandate that entities receiving federal funds must provide meaningful access to those who are not fluent in English without unduly burdening the fundamental mission of the organization. The GHMPO reaffirms its outreach commitment by providing public notices in both English and Spanish, contacting the local non-English speaking media, having an interpreter at public meetings and following procedures laid out in the LEP Plan.
