May 2016: FY 2017 Unified Planning Work Program is Adopted
The GHMPO Policy Committee adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) on May 10, 2016. The FY 2017 UPWP describes the organization’s objectives, previous work, activities, and products. The program also includes cost estimates for each activity and identifies funding sources for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
In FY 2017, GHMPO and its planning partners intend to undertake four planning studies:
1. GHMPO will assist the City of Flowery Branch conduct Mitchell Street Conceptual Study to install sidewalk, landscaping, and storm water improvements along Mitchell Street.
2. GHMPO will assist the City of Gainesville hire a consultant to conduct Phase 2 of Green Street Corridor Study to make recommendations in the neighboring areas around Green Street to alleviate traffic congestion on this road.
3. GHMPO will hire a consultant to conduct a Regional Freight Study to recommend specific freight projects for Hall County and Jackson County.
4. GHMPO will hire a consultant to conduct a Transit Development Plan to develop a 5-year improvement plan for Hall Area Transit.
