March 2005: GHMPO Adopted its Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan

The GHMPO Policy Committee adopted its first comprehensive Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan in March of 2005. The GHMPO began a 10-month planning process to plan for bicycle and pedestrian facilities to serve area citizens. This planning process was an outgrowth of comments received during our initial Long Range Transportation Plan project, where citizen’s expressed concern about the need for such facilities in the County.
